Hello! I am StJohn Wright from Notarial Services (Yorkshire & Derbyshire) Limited, practicing as StJohn Wright Notary Public. Welcome to the second blog post about ‘Flags of the World’.
The land of the United States of America has been inhabited for approximately 60,000 years, by people who migrated from Asia, who became known as Native Americans. In 1492, Christopher Colombus travelled from Spain to this ‘New World’, which we now know as modern-day North and South America. When the monarchy of Spain found out about Colombus’ voyage, they established colonies in the West Indies, Mexico, Central America, and South America. In 1607, the English founded their first permanent settlement at Jamestown, Virginia. In 1620, the Pilgrims (a group of Protestants) established the second English colony in America in Plymouth, after travelling across the Atlantic Ocean on the ‘Mayflower’. If, like these people, you are considering moving to a foreign country, have you thought about how you will open a foreign bank account? If so, look no further than myself (as a Notary), and seek advice from me today about how I can support you in this exciting process!
The flag of the USA has been revised 27 times, and consists of 13 stripes, each representing a colony of the original 13 colonies (New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia). Do you need an American Acknowledgement here, in the UK? Notaries are so abundant in the USA, but here in the UK, it is often hard to find a good Notary when you need one.
The USA has many different traditional foods including the ‘Philly Cheese Steak’, which originated in Philadelphia. It includes slices of steak, American cheese, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and mayonnaise, all in a lightly toasted roll. It is something you must try!
In the 19th Century, Alaska was part of Russia. The Russian government discussed a proposal in 1857, after the Crimean War reduced Russia’s interest in the region. Then, in 1858, the Russian government offered to sell the territory to the USA, hoping that its presence in the region would offset the plans of the British.
Alaska has a longer coastline than the other 49 states combined. One year ago, due to the conflict in Russia and Ukraine, there was a story in the news where two Russians crossed the Bering Sea by boat to Gambell, Alaska. Since its coastline is very long, it was easier for the men to target the state, which they would have perceived as being safe. What’s your next move? Are you planning to send your child on a holiday without you? If so, seek advice from a Notary, like me, on how to obtain consent for a child to travel. Or has someone you loved passed away in a foreign country and left you property in their will? Discuss with me how you can claim this property without having to travel.
To conclude, I am a Notary, who has been practicing for 16 years, and I would urge you to get into contact with me if you require any of the services that I have mentioned in this blog post. Please see my website (Notary in Sheffield | England | StJohn Wright Notary Public) to find out more about me and what I can do to help you. Also, do not hesitate to call me on 07863252272.
Thank you for reading this second Blog Post on the ‘Flags of the World’. Keep your eyes open for the next one about Spain.
