Notary Fees

My minimum fee for Notarial work involving paper wet ink signature and seal is generally £110.

However, as an exception, for Consents for a child to travel abroad (fully drafted) my fee will be £100.

I now offer an e-Notarisation Service - My minimum fee for e-Notarisation is £109

which includes £9 to cover the cost of the DocuSign Envelope.

Please note that not every Notarisation can be done as an e-Notarisation and not all Countries will accept an e-Notarised document.

Below is a list of fees I typically charge for different types of Notarial Instructions. I do not charge on a 'per document' basis but reserve the right to charge more than the fees stated below for transactions involving multiple documents or where I am required to consider complex documents or legal circumstances. I also reserve the right to charge an additional fee where I am required to travel.

For individuals

Power of Attorney (with Direct Notarial Certificate) £160 (for each Power of Attorney)

Power of Attorney (in Public Form - typically Spanish or French) £180 (for each Power of Attorney)

Where you require me to provide a second witness there will be an additional charge of £50

If there is to be more than 1 signatory to a document there will be a further charge of £35 per additional signatory

Where you require documents to be drafted by me the charge will be £50 per document

Apostilles

Where an Apostille is required, at your request, I can send the document(s) to the Legalisation Department of the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office (herein referred to as the FCDO). There are three options I can offer for obtaining an Apostille.

Please note that the FCDO charge their fees on a Non-refunded basis. The fee they charge only covers the application being made . So if for whatever reason the FCDO reject any of your documents, however small or technical their reason may be, they will not provide any refund of the fees paid for that application. It is imperative therefore that you make certain that all the documents presented to the FCDO for Apostilles are in fact capable of receiving an Apostille.

You may have heard that Processing Times within the FCDO can be very variable. Sometimes they can be processing documents received more than a month since they were received at the FCDO and at other times they can be processing documents received only a few days after they were received by the FCDO.

The first option is for me to send the wet signed Notarised documents to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office directly. If you choose this option then the total fee for each Apostille would be £90 made up as follows:

FCDO fee - £45

Handling Fee - £45.00

However, if processing times at the FCDO are slow and speed and certainty of quick return of the documents is imperative to you then the second option is for me to send the wet signed Notarised documents to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office via an Agent. If you choose this option then the total fee for each Apostille would be £120 made up as follows:

Agent fees (including FCDO fee) - £67.76

Handling Fee - £52.24

The third option is to apply for an E-Apostille. However, please do be aware that the FCDO will only issue an E-Apostille on documents that have been electronically signed by a Notary Public using an EU Qualified Electronic Signature. There are significant benefits in taking this option in that there are no physical documents to post and the FCDO boast turnaround times of 2 days. However not all documents can be Notarised using an Electronic signature and not all Countries and/or Authorities within those foreign Countries will accept E-Notarisation or E-Apostilles. However, where E-Notarisation and E-Apostilles can be accepted this remains a very attractive option. If you choose this option then the total fee for each Apostille would be £70 made up as follows:

FCDO fee - £35

Handling fee - £35

Postage and Courier Charges

Where documents do need to be posted as part of my Service to you the following Postal and Courier Charges will apply:

Postage direct to the FCDO (Tracked but not signed for 48 hrs) - £3.45

First Class Return Postage - £3.30

Courier straight to the Jurisdiction - £60

Embassy Stamps

Where an Embassy Stamp is required I will obtain a quote from one of my trusted Agents/Partners and provide that to you for your consideration before sending the documents off for further Legalisation.
